Exciting New Secretariat Role!
This Australian Government Department plays an important role in managing a wide range of regulatory and non-regulatory programs, to protect the environment and human health from potentially harmful effects of products and materials throughout their life cycle. This division is on the forefront of implementing a new nationally consistent approach which protects the environment and Australia's people from the harmful effects of industrial chemicals.
In your role as a Secretariat, you will work in cooperation with the Advisory Committee Chair and departmental officers who are responsible for providing briefing to the Advisory Committee. Your primary responsibilities are :
To be successful in this role, you will need to have previous experience in APS, ideally at the APS5 or APS6 level. You will also need to demonstrate well-developed coordination and organisational skills with a proven track record of supporting senior executives and Australian government appointed committees. This role requires the ability to exercise sound judgement and clearly communicate, verbally and in writing, for a range of audiences in a variety of formats. Other suitable qualities are the ability to show ingenuity, work with limited direction and exceptional stakeholder relationship management. To be successful in this role you must be an Australian Citizen and have relevant experience in Government Department and / or in a similar position. You must also be able to obtain and maintain a Federal Government Security Clearance (Baseline, NV1 or NV2).
