Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Contracts Manager to oversee and lead the negotiation and execution of complex, high-value contracts within the renewable energy sector. As a key player in our commercial team, you will manage the full lifecycle of contractual negotiations for our utility-scale inverter supply and service agreements, ensuring alignment with our business strategy, legal compliance, and customer expectations.
Acting as a central point of contact for both internal stakeholders and external parties—primarily EPC contractors , project developers , and project owners —across all phases of contract development.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, manage, and coordinate the end-to-end negotiation process for :
High-value equipment supply agreements (typically €50–80 million) with EPC contractors delivering utility-scale solar and battery energy storage projects.
Long-term service and maintenance agreements (5–20 years) with project owners and developers, including extended warranties and performance obligations.
Subcontractor agreements for specialised works such as electrical and site-based services.
Review, redline, draft, and revise complex commercial contracts to ensure alignment with company interests, risk tolerances, and legal frameworks.
Conduct negotiations at senior levels, maintaining professionalism and diplomacy while protecting the company’s commercial and legal position.
Ensure all contracts are compliant with applicable Australian regulations and international standards relevant to renewable energy and utility-scale infrastructure.
Improvement of contract administration processes, templates and workflows and supervision the Contract Administrator reporting to this role.
Maintain awareness of commercial trends, risk factors, and best practices in renewable energy contracting.
Demonstrate flexibility in working hours to accommodate collaboration and meetings with teams from our parent company based in Spain, which may occur during evening hours in Australia.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Tertiary qualifications in Law, Commerce, Business , or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in contract negotiation and commercial management, ideally within renewable energy, infrastructure, or related sectors .
Demonstrated success in managing high-value contract negotiations with EPC contractors and large corporate clients.
Strong understanding of contract law, commercial risk allocation , and relevant compliance considerations.
Proven experience handling complex, multi-party negotiations involving technical and performance-based contract structures.
High commercial acumen and the ability to analyse financial and legal impacts.
Exceptional attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, with the capability to lead negotiations and collaborate across diverse teams such as legal, finance, engineering, and project management teams.
