Senior Claims Consultant – Motor Claims

100k–$110k + Super

Office-Based | Brisbane (Milton, relocating to North Lakes within 12 months)

An established national insurance brokerage is seeking a talented Senior Claims Consultant to manage a portfolio of complex heavy motor claims. This is a hands-on, end-to-end role ideal for a technically strong claims professional with solid experience across fleet, commercial, or heavy motor claims.

About the Role

Based in Brisbane, you’ll be part of a collaborative claims team that values technical excellence and client advocacy. This role reports to the local Claims Team Manager and involves managing an average portfolio of 170–200 active claims.

Key responsibilities include :

  • Managing motor claims from lodgement to resolution
  • Handling liability, recoveries, aggregate claim structures, and interpreting policy terms
  • Advising clients directly and representing their best interests
  • Liaising with insurers, assessors, repairers, and third-party providers
  • Attending client meetings and site visits where necessary
  • Providing informal mentoring and technical guidance to junior staff

About You

You’re an experienced claims professional who takes pride in managing claims thoroughly and efficiently — not just processing files, but genuinely advocating for clients and driving better outcomes. You bring strong technical knowledge, a calm and methodical approach to complex claims, and the ability to work independently while contributing to a broader team.

To be successful, you will have :

  • 3–5+ years of experience in end-to-end motor claims, ideally with a strong focus on fleet, heavy motor, or commercial vehicle claims. Additional training will be provided on heavy motor lines.
  • A high level of technical capability, including :
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to liaise directly with clients, assessors, repairers, and insurers
  • A reputation for being responsive, reliable, and solutions-focused
  • Strong judgement and commercial acumen when negotiating or resolving complex claims
  • Client-first mindset – you understand the impact a well-managed claim can have on a business or individual, and you care about getting it right
  • Strong values around professional integrity, client service, and continuous improvement
