Job Description Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Payroll Officer to support the day-to-day payroll activities of a large ASX listed organisation

About the Role

Service Stream's Corporate division are currently seeking a Payroll Officer to join our growing company. You will be responsible for facilitating the running, delivery and controlling of the payment of wages and salaries, and to ensure the accurate and timely maintenance of related payroll records whilst adhering to the relevant statutory legislation and Service Streams Policies and Procedures.

  • Nature of position : Permanent, Full Time- Location : Collins Street, VIC- Reporting Line : Payroll Manager- Key Responsibilities- Payroll Processing
  • Maintain award data and ensure wages payments comply with awards, OEA, arbitrated decisions and consent agreements.
  • Delivery of the payroll function and ensure weekly, fortnightly and monthly payment of wages, salaries and invoices are completed in a timely manner.
  • Ensure efficient completion of troubleshooting as required
  • Update and maintain accurate employee Master File records
  • Plan and implement all payroll changes in relation to new and amended industrial instruments.
  • Process payroll batch functions if required
  • Monitoring of Payroll Inbox
  • Oversee the payroll helpdesk function and allocate workload received via payroll inbox to team members accordingly
  • Respond to escalated payroll queries in an efficient and timely manner
  • Miscellaneous Duties
  • Post Pat deliverables including reporting to site, finance and other departments
  • Conduct regular checks for terminations
  • Check pay run variance report for discrepancies
  • Review and update payroll processes on a regular basis to maintain continuous improvement
  • About You- To be successful in this role, you will possess excellent numerical and analytical skills alongside highly developed communication and interpersonal skills. We are seeking an individual with demonstrated ability to support and develop a team to deliver a key business service. You will also demonstrate and possess the following :
  • Proven experience in senior payroll roles with considerable understanding of taxation and superannuation legislation to payroll activities
  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications, ideally in a business, finance or accounting discipline
  • Strong experience in a complex corporate or shared services environment processing high volumes of weekly, fortnightly & monthly pay runs
  • Experience with Chris21 highly advantageous
  • Experience with Workday preferred
  • Experience with 'month end' processing such as Payroll Tax and Super processing is essential
