Disability Support Worker (Casual)

Bright Journey Disability Support Services is looking for an experienced, reliable, and empathetic female Support Worker who wants to make a difference by supporting our participants in achieving their goals and living their best life. This role is located in the inner suburbs of Melbourne and surrounding areas.

• The role may involve
• Assistance with community access and recreational activities
• Personal care (showering, toileting, and personal hygiene assistance)
• Manual handling and / or the use of equipment to support mobility (wheelchairs or hoists)
• Transportation and social engagement
• Light domestic duties such as meal preparation and cleaning
• Behavioural and Mental Health Support
• Essential criteria
• Minimum Certificate III Aged Care and / or Certificate in Disability.
• Hands on experience in manual handling.
• An understanding of the disability / community services sector and person-centred support.
• Transferable life / work skills along with a caring and compassionate approach.
• A valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle.
• NDIS Worker Screening Check.
• The legal right to work in Australia.
• Excellent communication skills.
• A genuine interest in the wellbeing & inclusion of people with disabilities.
• Current Working with Children check.
• Competent computer skills.

Pay : $38.00 - $70.00 per hour
