The Office of Information Management (OIM) is responsible for information management and related information and communication technology (IT) to enable the Department to achieve its strategic, tactical and operational goals through the right IT governance and correct information and technology controls.
We currently have an opportunity for a Security Analyst to join our team.
Under general direction, the Security Analyst :
Undertakes security event monitoring and analysis of potential incidents.Undertakes preventative measures to emerging security threats and assists with security assessments through vulnerability testing and risk analysis.Prioritises and diagnoses information security breaches, undertakes preliminary root cause analysis and assists in security incident investigation, resolution and prevention.Monitors network traffic to detect potential threats and escalating these threats promptly.Assists with prevention activities through the collection, analysis, and reporting of data.Assists with vulnerability assessments, security audits / reviews and security threat emulation against DBCA internal and external environments.Assists with investigations to correctly gather, analyse and present the totality of findings, including digital evidence.

Selection Criteria
Applicants should address the following three (3) criteria. These should be addressed in no more than three (3) pages in total.
Working experience in exploring various possibilities and support in generating innovative open standard based solutions related to cyber security analytics using technical capabilities across a wide range of domains.Demonstrated ability to apply lateral thinking to contribute ideas and solutions in a complex environment, utilising best practice principles, methods and processes related to contemporary cyber security analytics issues.Working knowledge of industry standard security frameworks (for example : ASD Essential 8, ASD ISM, NIST Cyber Security Framework, ISO / IEC 27000-series) and IT service management practices (for example : ITIL).
