  • The Role

The Tactics and Training Directorate (TDD) APS 5 Information and Knowledge Manager (IKM) will provide operational and administrative IKM support to TTD and indeed the broader Defence community.

They will be required to maintain proficiency in current and emerging IKM systems as well as best practice. They will champion the integration of bespoke solutions relevant to Defence's operational objectives while ensuring compliance with higher level doctrine and legislation.

You will be required to Liaise with and mentor key stakeholders and general users providing support and training on modified, new and or bespoke IKM installations in support of daily operations as well as during high tempo periods within the operational environment as required.

This role may see you re-vamping or re-aligning the directorates persistent online presence across multiple intranet sites one day, to building bespoke virtual or live exercise portals in support of some of the largest Joint and Coalition Operations the next.

  • You may be required to develop internal or exercise related IKM policy and provide training to the relevant audiences as appropriate.
  • You may be required to design, deliver and ensure successful integration between Defence IKM systems and its partners with the support of the TTD IKM Lead as Defence IKM and Communication capability continue to develop in an increasingly contested environment.
  • You will also provide ongoing IKM support to a plethora of internal and external stakeholders.
  • You are proactive in identifying and analysing end user trends and or system issues, developing contingency plans and strategies to resolve and presenting these to higher management for buy in and eventually implementation.

    • As well as maintaining key IKM relationships domestically as well as abroad, this position may also provide the opportunity to travel to other Defence units in support of other excises and operations outside the Directorate on an annual and bi-annual basis.

  • About our Team

    • HQ Tactics and Training Directorate (TDD) was established within the Air Warfare Centre (AWC) in January 2017.

  • TTD is tasked with the development of multi-discipline, high-end integrated tactics and training across the Air Force through a combination of training, education and integrated exercises.
  • TTD will transform the way Air Force thinks about and teach air warfare. It will also conduct operational analysis to inform integrated tactics analysis to better enhance warfighter effects.
  • TTD is an established centre of excellence for air warfare education and multi-domain warfighting expertise, focused on integrated Australian and Coalition forces who maximise combat lethality.

    • We are looking for experienced IKM professionals who are experienced communicators and strategic thinkers, ideally with established IKM connections within and outside the agency. They hold a passion for IKM management with a focus on compliance, functionality, and end user experience. They think outside of the box and are not afraid to challenge the status quo.

    Key Qualities / Skills :
