Position Overview The Governance and Risk Coordinator provides assistance and support to the NPG Board and Executive. Responsibilities include coordinating Board meetings, providing Secretariat support to four Board Sub-Committees, and coordinating the preparation of the Corporate Plan and Annual Report. The role also supports policy development, organisational performance monitoring, and works closely with various business areas within Corporate Services.
Key Duties Specific Tasks Coordinate and support Board and Committee meetings, including logistics, agenda preparation, and minute-taking. Manage relationships with Board and Committee members, departmental representatives, and external stakeholders, ensuring professional communication. Maintain governance practices in compliance with legislation, policies, and procedures. Develop and publish planning and performance documents, including the Annual Report and Corporate Plan. Assist the Executive Team and Board with research, policy development, and drafting briefings. Support processing of Freedom of Information (FOI) requests. Assist with internal audit, risk management, and policy documents as required. Section Criteria Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to produce high-quality reports. Experience in secretariat services, including minute-taking and managing action items. Understanding of corporate governance frameworks within an Australian Government context. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment. Ability to prioritize, plan, and organize work independently.
