Science Teacher – Stem

We are currently seeking a permanent full-time Science Teacher to teach Junior Science and Biology, Chemistry, and / or Physics up to HSC level.

What You Will Do

Write, implement and evaluate teaching programs and Dalton assignments

Evaluate teaching programs in relation to student progress

Develop effective examination, testing and reporting procedures

Use and develop innovative curriculum on the school Learning Management System

Actively participate in the planning of the curriculum, writing of programs and scope and sequences, writing of resources

Use formative and summative assessment to determine student progress

Create a stimulating classroom environment where students can flourish

Teach within the Dalton Principles, including Responsibility, Independence, Collaboration and Reflection.

What You Will Bring

A tertiary major in preferably two Science disciplines and accreditation with NESA

Proven ability to teach and lead Stage 6 Biology, Chemistry and / or Physics

Keen interest and strong experience in teaching STEM

Excellent attention to detail, and ability to work to a high standard

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Good grooming and personal presentation

Ability to follow instructions, work unsupervised and be a cooperative team member

Understanding of and commitment to WHS legislation and risk management principles

A valid Working with Children Clearance (WWCC) and First Aid certificate (or willingness to obtain).
