  • 2 Year Fixed term Contract; 6 weeks annual leave
  • Port Hedland WA Location + Housing Assistance + Relocation allowance
  • Salary Range $104 - $110k pa + super
  • Drake is a renowned, privately owned, international recruitment and human resources solutions company. We are currently recruiting for a client based in Port Hedland, WA that requires a Strategic Planner to assist them to develop, deliver and manage strategic planning and land projects.

    • About the Role
    • This role is a two-year fixed term contract, located in Port Hedlandn WA, working full time hours Monday to Friday. The successful applicant will deliver on allocated place activation and strategic planning projects; whilst regularly maintaining meaningful engagement with business groups, community and government. You will also be able to deliver on high quality reports and information to relevant stakeholders.

    • Key responsibilities
    • Coordinate stakeholder engagement for key planning projects
    • Provide strategic advice to support the delivery of planning projects
    • Lead, procure and project manage strategic planning projects and local planning policy development and review
    • Investigate / research opportunities for new grant funding opportunities and prepare / submit business cases as required
    • Be able to develop responses to crown land and land tenure related matters
    • Have the ability to present to relevant stakeholders and forums
    • Essential
    • Bachelor's Degree in Urban and Regional Planning, Economic Development, Environmental Management, Urban Design, Project Management or equivalent experience in a related discipline.
    • Highly developed verbal and written communication, including report writing skills
    • Highly developed organisational and time management skills
    • Conflict resolution and complaint handling skills
    • Proven capacity to present high level work and attention to detail
    • Demonstrated experience in successful project development and delivery, including consultant supervision
    • Desirable
    • Experience in delivering urban design or strategic planning / land activation projects
    • Previous experience in developing local planning strategies, schemes and policies
    • Previous experience working with a range of consultants to deliver strategic outcomes.
