Safety Advisor

Alcoa of Australia are a global industry leader in bauxite, alumina and aluminium products. IMS Workforce (IMSW) provides technical services to Alcoa with our teams embedded across all Alcoa operations in Western Australia. This role is predominantly onsite at Alcoa's Pinjarra plant as part of the maintenance team but will encompass other Alcoa refineries.

• Skills & Experience
• Diploma of Occupational Health and Safety Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety (essential)
• Advanced Diploma Occupational Health and Safety (preferred)
• Experience within an Alumina or Heavy Industry preferred
• 5 - 10 years in a similar field or position
• Responsibilities & Duties
• Review Contractors safety management plans to enable Work Permits, sub-contractor permits, method statements and procedures to be approved in a timely fashion
• Promote and monitor OHS compliance of personnel with safe work practices.
• Implement and maintain safe work processes across the operation.
• Undertake audits / inspections and ensure timely completion of corrective actions.
• Effectively communicate the critical safety information across the operation to management
• Interpret and communicate legislative information, updates to Contractors and contracted service providers
• Provide coaching and training and provide practical safety focused solutions
