DescriptionThe finance lead will need to deliver excellence in commercial & financial construct, influencing and managing stakeholders up to Ex-Co level, creating and managing pricing and bid responses for complex opportunities, and ensuring these are delivered through innovative commercial propositions.
This role transitions from a pre-sales focus to an in-life commercial management focus on the successful closure of a opportunity, including the in-life management of an account P&L.
- Commercial business case generation for customer opportunities and new initiatives including risk analysis and mitigation.
- Manage relationship with key stakeholders, ensuring that all proposals and propositions are taken through and approved by the relevant governance authorities.
- Deliver thought leadership, innovative deal structuring and commercial expertise that mitigates risk and contributes to the growth of the business.
- Deliver complex deal commercial strategies and propositions for Vodafone's strategic accounts.
- Manage project budget with regular performance reporting
- Work with Finance to ensure adherence to broader finance and risk requirements such as revenue recognition, pricing and discounting policies, export controls etc. May include 'financial engineering' and understanding / evaluating economic impact of terms and term options.
- Manage the transition from Pre-Sales to In-life management establishing robust commercial controls to maximise return and minimise risk
- Technical / Professional qualifications
- Influencing and managing large corporate customers and senior stakeholders.
- Proven experience developing compelling commercial & pricing propositions
- Proven experience in managing the in-life commercial facets of a complex contract
- Proven experience in a customer facing environment and experience in customer facing negotiation
- Strong analytical and decision making skills, including the ability to balance conflicting interests and make decisions based on incomplete or unreliable information
- Understanding of construction industry, and preferably mining sector
- Strong communication & stakeholder management up to C level
- Advanced Excel (Pivot tables, Macros)
- Advanced Powerpoint
- Quantitative first degree or postgraduate business qualification
- Accounting Qualification with relevant management accounting experience would be considered an advantage
