- About the role
The position requires providing direct, individual support for people with cognitive impairments, disability and or aged care. This may include various different supports to maximise and support for participants' capacity for daily living and their goals and needs.
We are seeking for passionate and experienced Assistant Nurses (AIN) and support workers with various experience to work on a full time, part time and casual basis. _Successful applicants must be available to work day and night shifts._
All positions are well supported with care training on a client-specific basis delivered by our registered nurses and trainers.
Some key points for your role are as below :
- Provide and / or assist participants with personal care (meal preparation, shower service, etc.) household tasks, community access, etc.
- Support participants with challenging behaviours.
- Support participant-centred approach when providing care.
- Support to access the community, cognitive support and mentoring.
- Protect and respect the privacy, confidentiality and rights of participants.
- Maintain a professional attitude and boundaries.
- Adhere to the given roster and policies
- Support with sound clinical knowledge and skills
- Support other support workers
- Provide bowel care (Enema)
- Follow personal care routines (shower)
- Manual Handling
- Catheter Care (Indwelling Urinary Catherter)
- Performing skin checks and pressure injury care
The participants you will likely be supporting are as below :
- Permanent spinal cord injuries
- Permanent injury to the brachial plexus
- Traumatic brain injuries
- Severe burns
- Multiple or high-level limb amputations
- Permanent blindness caused by trauma

- Remuneration is guided by the Social, Community, Home Care, and Disability award and is dependent on experience and qualifications.
- Requirement
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing / Disability) or equivalent
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Valid NDIS worker screening check
- Valid Working With Children Check
- Fully vaccinated for COVID-19 (up to 3 shots)
- Experience and skills that covers the above
