The NTEU represents workers in all universities across Australia, along with their associated student organisations, research institutes and companies.
The National Office, based in South Melbourne, is seeking to employ a full-time staff member for their National Industrial and Legal Team - at a Level 5 or 6 Industrial and Legal Support Officer contingent on experience. The position will complement an established and supportive team in the union's national office and will be available from mid-February 2025.
- Duties as Administrative support to the Union's National Industrial and Legal Team_ :
- Triage of incoming requests for industrial support.
- Management of Right of Entry permits across the Union
- Secretariat support to key Industrial and Legal Team groups / committees.
- Duties as Administrative support to the Union's Management and Administration Team_ :
- Maintenance of internal directories, databases and records management systems.
- Assist with lodgement of documentation and statutory returns with external agencies and authorities including FWC, WGEA, ROC and AEC.
- Assist other admin staff with the administration of the NTEU Elections.
- Assist other admin staff with the organisation, coordination and planning of major conferences and events.
The appointment will be made at NTEU Level 5 or Level 6, depending on qualifications and / or experience and carry a salary in the range $96,394-$104,219 (Level 5) or $108,828-$119,304 (Level 6), plus an additional 17% employer superannuation component. The terms and conditions of the positions are currently in accordance with the NTEU National Staff Enterprise Agreement _2024-2027._
- To be successful in this role, you will have
- Relevant qualifications or extensive relevant experience (relative to the level of appointment sought).
- Experience with unions and / or community organisations
- Well-developed communication skills, both written and oral
- Excellent working knowledge of the MS Office suite
- The ability to effectively organise your own work and to work co-operatively with Elected Officers and other Union staff.
