Job description

Enjoy a stable 8-5 job where you can use your compassionate people skills and eliminate shift work. You'll be providing care to patients, managing appointments and payments, and making sure everything runs smoothly in the front office.

This isn't just general dental work, you'll be supporting complex surgical cases. That means you'll gain experience working with a high level of patient care and coordination, including liaising with hospitals and anaesthetists. You'll also enjoy an RDO every month : )

You'll be part of a close knit team that values everyone's contribution. You won't just be answering phones - you'll be involved in keeping operations running, from managing stock to preparing hospital lists and supporting the specialist team.

  • What you'll do
  • Greet patients and visitors warmly and professionally, creating a welcoming environment and managing appointment bookings.
  • Oversee billing, invoicing, and claims processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with health funds, Medicare, DVA and ADF
  • Order and keep track of surgical and office supplies so the team never runs short of what they need
  • Build positive relationships with surgeons, nurses and the Practice Manager to keep patient care running smoothly
  • Help maintain hygiene and safety standards around the practice, including basic cleaning and infection control
  • Get familiar with emergency and recovery equipment and procedures to support the team when needed
  • General tasks such typing support and administrative assistance for the specialists
  • What you'll need
  • Experience working in a dental practice, hospital administration, or as a registered nurse
  • Basic to advanced knowledge of HICAPS, EFTPOS, Medicare, DVA, Australian Defence Force, Health Fund claiming and strong computer literacy
  • Caring and communicative with people and confident handling phone calls and face-to-face enquiries
  • Organised and positive attitude, comfortable juggling multiple responsibilities
  • You understand the importance of compliance, ensuring everything from billing to sterilisation adheres to industry standards
  • The ability to be primarily located at the Auchenflower rooms with a car and licence to travel to the Chermside practice on an occasional basis
  • The Practice - Queensland Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons (QOMS)
