Status : Full time

Term : 3 year fixed term contract

Direct reports : Nil , with possibility of a project officer as the program grows

Location : Broadford, with flexible arrangements available at TLaWC

The Taungurung Land and Waters Council (TLaWC) acts as the voice of the Taungurung people – a people with a strong sense of shared identity, self-determining in the management of Country and culture.

As a Registered Aboriginal Party, TLaWC upholds the interests of the Taungurung people with emphasis on economic, social and cultural well-being.

TLaWC’s focus is to preserve the past, protect the present and strengthen the future of the Taungurung Nation, which occupies a large part of Central Victoria.

Primary Function

The renewable energy manager will be responsible for leading Taungurung’s renewable energy priorities in consultation with community, the board and TLaWC

Key Duties

• Responsible for reviewing, refining and monitoring the Renewable Energy Program Plan and creating and implementing an action plan.
• Lead engagement with new and existing renewable energy projects with industry and government
• Lead renewable energy initiatives that support Taungurung community objectives
• Work effectively with all TLaWC staff teams to ensure renewable energy impacts and benefits are understood and responded to from all organizational perspectives
• Secure funding from appropriate sources to support the project and coordinate associated funding acquittal
• Build and strengthen relationships within networks to progress renewable energy objectives
• Lead engagement with Taungurung community on renewable energy related matters
• Lead and support implementation of an effective Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS) through allocation of required resources. Direct and support employees to contribute to the effectiveness of OHSMS.
