  • The role :

    A Community Laws Officer contributes to protecting the Whitehorse community and Council assets by administrating and enforcing a range of various Acts and Regulations including investigations relating to safety and amenity, animal management, local laws, nuisance issues, litter, building site safety, fire prevention and more. This role works directly with the community to resolve issues. , provide advice on regulatory obligations and take appropriate enforcement action where necessary to maintain public safety.

    About you :

    We’re looking for a capable and community minded professional with strong investigation skills, sound legislative knowledge, and the ability to manage complex cases from start to finish to ensure a safe Whitehorse community.

  • A Certificate IV in Statutory Compliance / Animal Management is desirable (or willing to obtain), or you bring substantial relevant experience in regulatory compliance,
  • You have strong knowledge of relevant legislation and industry standards,
  • Experience or capability to work with and handle animals
  • Skilled in conducting interviews, investigating breaches, and preparing thorough briefs of evidence.
  • A strategic thinker and effective problem solver, with sound analytical skills and the ability to develop practical solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in preparing reports, correspondence, and documentation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage effectively with members of the community
  • Holds a current Victorian driver’s
