About ECHO

ECHO Community Services is a registered charity providing care to the elderly by helping them to live in their own home with dignity while still maintaining their independence.

We provide in-home services 7 days per week for Home Care Package and 5 days per week for CHSP.

Our goal is to provide services at the same time, on the same day and with the same support worker which means that you know the person who is coming and the time they will arrive. Having the same support worker providing services, in particular, medication prompts and personal care, maintains the person's dignity and well-being. You know and can trust the person attending. There is continuity of care for people who receive our services.

• Description

This role is offering flexible two (2) to five (4) days per week with the ability to work additional hours and is a genuine opportunity to make a positive difference to people's lives and your community!

Hours of work are from 7.30am up to 5.30pm.

Working as part of a small, friendly team in groups of two and sometimes as a solo this role will provide effective, efficient gardening and some home maintenance services to customers in the Northern and Eastern suburbs.

The job entails travelling from one client residence to another throughout the day performing activities such as lawn mowing, lawn edging, weeding, hedge trimming and general gardening duties according to a client plan.

Work vehicle and gardening equipment are provided.

• Skills and Experiences

The role will suit an enthusiastic team player with the following skills and experience :

• Ability to work with people with differing needs from diverse backgrounds.
• Good communication skills, including verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated skills in garden maintenance.
• A commitment to completing on the job training within stated timelines
• Valid manual drivers licence
• Ability to obtain police clearance prior to commencement.
• Reliable with good timekeeping
