An established and highly respected environmental consultancy is seeking a Principal Environmental Scientist to lead mine closure and rehabilitation projects across Australia. The Opportunity

Join a collaborative and forward-thinking team focused on practical, science-based solutions for mine closure and land rehabilitation. You’ll be involved in complex projects across Western Australia with opportunities to contribute to projects in Queensland and Victoria. The team actively partners with research institutions and industry to improve outcomes for post-mining land use.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead technical delivery across the mine closure lifecycle, from strategy through to implementation.
• Prepare and review mine closure plans and supporting studies.
• Design and coordinate multidisciplinary technical investigations (e.g. geochemical, ecological, geotechnical).
• Translate scientific insights into actionable strategies for clients.
• Support business development, prepare proposals, and foster client relationships.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to internal capability building.
• Conduct site-based assessments and provide expert advice.
• Prepare high-quality technical reports and communicate findings clearly to stakeholders.

About You

You are a senior professional with deep expertise in mine closure and environmental rehabilitation. You are comfortable operating across strategy, science, and stakeholder engagement, and enjoy collaborating with peers across disciplines.
