Sole Legal Counsel - Commercial

You will be joining an established financial services company as a Sole Legal Counsel focusing on a breadth of legal work and liaising with stakeholders across all areas of the business. This is a permanent opportunity and can be based in Sydney or Melbourne.

About the Role

Responsibilities include :

Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including client and supplier agreements

Provide legal advice on new products and services to support business strategy

Monitor and interpret regulatory changes (particularly ASIC-related) and advise on implications

Provide legal support on matters involving privacy, data protection, marketing, and IP

Support contract lifecycle management and assist with dispute resolution

Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to align legal outcomes with business needs

Ensure legal documentation is properly executed and compliant

About You

You have :

3–8PQE with current unrestricted practising certificate and relevant legal qualifications

Ideally in-house and / or private practice commercial law experience

Proven ability to provide commercially focused, practical legal advice

Exposure to financial services or regulated environments

Strong drafting, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills
