Position Purpose
Members perform routine tasks associated in manufacture and laying bituminous and other paving materials on roads, runways, parking areas and other surfaces to be paved.
Major Responsibility Areas
- Carry out duties in a safe manner as directed by Supervisors or Management
- Participate in coordinating and prioritising duties on site
- Co-ordinate with Spotters and Traffic Control on site
- Ensure all licences, competencies and certificates are maintained & notify company of any changes
- Ensure all necessary pre-start checks of plant and equipment are completed and plant and equipment is maintained in safe working order
- Maintain and store tools, equipment and PPE as required to ensure a safe efficient working condition
- Ensure Supervisor is notified of any faulty plant, tools or equipment
- Carry out housekeeping of plant, equipment and job site as required
- Monitor supply of general supplies, minor tools and equipment and notify Supervisor or Management of any purchasing requirements
- Participate in identifying job hazards, implementing solutions or prevention of harm and sharing information with fellow team workers, management and QSE Manager
- Observe quality, environmental and workplace health & safety requirements on site and notify Supervisor of any incidents or non-conformances
- Ensure all required documentation is completed accurately and submitted daily
- Ensure time sheet is filled in daily, checked & signed by Supervisor
- Ensure all Fuel Logs, dockets & credit card receipts are handed into the project office at least weekly
- Participate in fulfilling training plans requirements

Key Selection Criteria
Preferred experience Civil Road Construction Industry or Asphalt / Spray Seal / Profiling industry (6 months)Hold current licenses, certificates and competencies relevant to the position as required by the company including General Safety InductionAbility to follow direction & comply with safety, environmental and quality assurance practisesStrong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills for teamworkAdditional Information and Requirements
This position is based primarily at the nominated depot.
