Community is at the heart of everything this council prides itself on._Responsibilities of a Strategic Planner at this councilDeliver a full range of quality town planning services, with an emphasis on strategic planning and customer focus.Processing and evaluation of requests for complex amendments as required.Public consultation and mediation on major strategic planning matters.Representation of Council's interests in regard to planning panels.
Administration and enforcement of Councils Planning Scheme, and associated legislation.Provision of expert advice and direction to clients about the development and use of sites within the municipality.Provide advice to Managers and staff across the organisation on significant strategic planning matters.Monitor Planning scheme amendments to ensure future potential for Council land is not compromised.Liaison with the Departments of Environment, Land, Water and Planning, other Municipality Council's, other Government authorities, and non government groups on a range of planning related matters.Strategic Planner Band 6 roleParticipate in the development and implementation of significant strategies, review processes, monitor outcomesand ensure a positive image of the team across the organisation and the community.Collect and analyse statistical information for key redevelopment sites and major projects where council has an interest, including information from other municipalities, government bodies, community organisations and public groups.
Responsibility of supervising relevant consultants.Senior Strategic Planner Band 7 roleDay to day management of heritage related matters, including coordination of the councils Heritage Assistance Fund.Oversee and coordinate consultants in undertaking strategic projects.
