About The Role
Are you an Environmental Professional interested in being part of an international mining company delivering environmental approvals for critical minerals projects in WA, SA and NSW?
Perth based opportunity with both office and fieldwork, you will be responsible for providing strategic advice and overseeing technical environmental impact assessments with the objective of securing environmental approvals for Iluka’s projects. Approvals may relate to exploration works, baseline studies for proposed new operations, operational expansion projects, closure plans or relinquishment.

Working within a dynamic environmental team, you will be responsible for :
Developing approvals strategies for both primary and secondary approvals
Managing environmental impact statement (EIS) programs, including :
Developing technical scopes of work for environmental impact assessments
Delivering and / or overseeing impacts assessments
Managing request-for-tender (RFT) / request-for-proposal (RFP) processes
Onboarding and managing technical consultants
Developing and tracking EIS / study schedules
Supervising environmental study field programs
Undertaking critical review of consultant technical reports for alignment with statutory assessment requirements and the Iluka management system
Developing and maintaining positive and collaborative working relationships with Government agencies and other stakeholders
Designing mitigating strategies to minimise environmental impact and approvals risk to Iluka
Preparation of high-quality approvals documentation
Partnering effectively with the broader project and operational teams, including provision of guidance and advice to ensure compliance with legislation and company environmental policies and procedures
Supporting interstate approval specialists and other Iluka projects, as required
Supporting existing Iluka operations, as required
About You
To be successful for this role, you will have :
Demonstrated experience in a similar role
Degree in Environmental Science or equivalent
Excellent knowledge of and experience with relevant State & Federal Government environmental and planning legislation and regulatory processes
Thorough understanding of principles of environmental impact assessment and environmental management
Broad understanding of mining and minerals processing and relevant environmental matters relating to these practices
Demonstrated ability to manage time, budget and quality of deliverables
Ability to influence, collaborate and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders
Excellent computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, GIS, PowerPoint)
Current C Class Driver’s License
