  • Part-time opportunity (15 hours per week; Wednesday - Friday) until 30 June 2026
  • About Us

Playgroup SA is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting families with young children across South Australia. We believe in the power of play to connect families and communities, fostering development and inclusivity for all.

We’re seeking a passionate Intergenerational Playgroup Facilitator to join our team, helping to establish and expand our Intergenerational Playgroup Program. This program bridges generations by connecting children aged 0-5, their caregivers, and older friends in residential aged care and community settings.

    How You’ll Make An Impact

As one of two Intergenerational Playgroup Facilitators, you will :

    • Work closely with aged care facilities and community playgroups to establish and continue new and existing intergenerational play sessions.
    • Build strong relationships with families, caregivers, and older friends, ensuring activities are inclusive and engaging.
    • Provide training and support to community playgroup facilitators to help them adopt intergenerational models.
    • Monitor, evaluate, report on and adapt the program based on feedback and outcomes.
    • Collaborate with key stakeholders to promote the program and ensure its success.
    • About You

We’re looking for someone with strong experience in the aged care sector—ideally someone who has worked as a Lifestyle Coordinator or in a similar role—who is also passionate about intergenerational connection and community engagement.

To Thrive In This Role, You’ll Be

    • Compassionate, proactive, and confident in connecting with people of all ages.
    • Familiar with the operations of aged care facilities and comfortable working within that environment.
    • Confident in engaging stakeholders in the aged care sector, and building and sustaining trusted relationships.
    • Experienced in working with older adults and coordinating inclusive activities.
    • Passionate about bringing generations together and fostering meaningful relationships.
    • You’ll Have

    • Experience coordinating programs or activities in aged care or community settings. Aged care sector experience is strongly preferred.
    • Formal qualifications in Community Services, Aged Care, or a related field.
    • A sound understanding of statutory requirements for aged care and early childhood services.
    • Strong time management, planning, report-writing and organisational skills.
    • Proficiency with MS Office programs and general computer literacy.
    • Current Working With Children Check, National Police Check, First Aid Certificate, and Safe Environments for Children and Young People Training (or willingness to obtain within 30 days).
    • A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
    • What We Offer

This is a fixed-term, part-time position (with days of work across Wednesday to Friday as either 2 long days or 3 short days) until 30 June 2026, with salary and conditions aligned with the SCHADS Award, based on qualifications and experience. Join a supportive, passionate team dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children and older adults!
