About The Opportunity

Standardise in-field manufacturing of composite repairs to steel structures. Support the development of a globally recognised standard for bonded composite repairs to structural steel. Conduct research on durability, fire resistance, design methodologies, risk mitigation, experimental validation, and inspection and monitoring techniques for composite-repaired steel structures.

About You

PhD in structural engineering, ideally with a specialisation in steel structures or rehabilitation and strengthening techniques or structural health monitoring. Substantial research experience in designing, using, and testing fibre-reinforced polymers, as evidenced by a strong track record of peer-reviewed journal publications in high-quality journals. Experience in adhesion science, particularly in the context of bonded repair technologies and interface mechanics. Experience in structural health monitoring, including sensor selection, placement, system integration, and data interpretation. Proven involvement in the development or application of codes of practice for structural systems, particularly ISO and Australian Standards (AS).
