The Travellers and Mail Operations Pathway within BOD delivers regulatory screening and inspections of goods, at the border to verify compliance with Australia's biosecurity requirements. Travellers and Mail Operations Pathway works with policy and risk owners within the department to influence and inform operational policy and deliver regulatory functions in accordance with legislative requirements, national standards, and a risk-based operating model. The pathway has a national footprint with a presence in all capital cities.

The Cargo Operations Pathway within BOD delivers regulatory assessment and inspections of goods, across the biosecurity continuum (offshore, at the border and onshore) to verify compliance with Australia's biosecurity requirements, as well as being the first point of contact to the department. Cargo Operations works with policy and risk owners within the department to influence and inform operational policy and deliver regulatory functions in accordance with legislative requirements, national standards and within an integrated, risk-based operating model. The group has a national footprint with a presence in all capital cities and major regional ports.
Cargo Operations Pathway includes positions in the Client Contact Group, Cargo Assessments and Cargo Inspections.
The Conveyances Pathway - Maritime Operations within BOD delivers regulatory assessment and inspections of arriving international vessels to ensure compliance with Australia's Biosecurity requirements. Conveyances pathway - Maritime Operations works with policy teams within the Department to influence and inform operational policy and deliver regulatory functions in accordance with legislative requirements. The pathway has a national footprint with a presence in all capital cities and major regional ports.
Conveyances Pathway - Maritime Operations includes positions in the National Maritime Centre and Maritime Inspections nationally.
