As a Solutions Engineer at Splunk, you'll be a pivotal technical sales resource for our Commercial / Scale Account Managers across Australia and New Zealand.

You'll serve as the domain expert, supporting customers, partners, and prospects with your deep understanding of Splunk technology and solutions.

Splunk SEs are responsible for addressing technical questions regarding Splunk technology, features, solutions, and applications.

You will articulate product positioning to both business and technical users, guiding them towards achieving their goals with our solutions.

Responsibilities

Lead or participate in discovery sessions to uncover and validate security opportunities, leveraging deep cybersecurity knowledge.

Demonstrate Splunk's security capabilities through demos, proofs of concept, and assessments focused on security threats.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, focusing on security needs throughout the sales cycle.

Address complex security-related technical questions, providing insights into how Splunk enhances security operations.

Provide guidance on security best practices and assist customers with adopting Splunk for SIEM, threat detection, and response.

Facilitate remote and in-person engagements, including workshops and seminars to showcase Splunk's security solutions.

Maintain a deep understanding of the cybersecurity landscape, including threats, vulnerabilities, and compliance.

Demonstrate expertise in Splunk's security solutions, addressing complex challenges and operational needs.

Participate in security strategy planning, identifying opportunities for security enhancement and compliance.

Articulate the security value and ROI of Splunk solutions, using case studies of risk mitigation.

Build strong relationships with security teams and decision-makers throughout the sales process.

Apply analytical and problem-solving skills to overcome sales obstacles creatively.

Commit to continuous learning in cybersecurity, working with presales teams to refine messaging and techniques.

Requirements

Ability to understand target customer's business, operations, and industry trends, including strategic goals.

Knowledge of how Splunk's security solutions can meet client needs.

Support account planning and identify new solutions and opportunities.

Support development and articulation of business value and ROI case studies.

Establish and maintain relationships throughout the sales cycle.

Be organized and analytical, overcoming obstacles with creative approaches.

Comfortable working in a dynamic, expanding organization.

Collaborate with presales teams to improve practices and processes.

Previous Experience

Experience with complex application environments and machine data sources.

Hands-on skills with UNIX, Linux, or Windows operating systems.

Experience with scripting languages like Python and RegEx for log analysis.

Knowledge of search engine technologies and query languages is advantageous.

Experience with security data sources like IDS / IPS, firewalls, and threat platforms.

Security certifications and knowledge of security frameworks and regulations (NIST, ISO, GDPR, etc.)

are highly desirable.

At least 2 years of security-focused presales experience, preferably in SIEM or related fields.
