Due to increased demand within our business, SYPAQ is seeking an ICT Security Specialist to work on a Defence project. This can be a permanent role with SYPAQ Systems or a long-term contract. The role offers an immediate start and requires presence at the Client site in Canberra.

OverviewThe ICT Security Specialist will work independently, with reasonable autonomy and accountability for achieving outcomes. The role involves exercising initiative and judgment in applying policies, practices, and procedures, providing detailed security advice, and supporting complex work documentation.

Duties May Include Some Or All Of The FollowingAuthoring and maintaining ICT security artefacts such as System Overview Document, Security Plan, Risk Management Plan, SOPs, Security Classification & Categorisation Guide, and other security documentation.Building and maintaining relationships with project and product managers to support cybersecurity, governance, risk, and compliance activities, including reviewing procedural documentation.Providing cybersecurity guidance to stakeholders throughout the Assessment & Authorization lifecycle, including System Owners, Security Assessors, and Product Managers.Preparing documentation and reports for the Cyber Security Assessment and Authorization framework and capability review boards.Essential CriteriaExperience or industry certification in cybersecurity, governance, risk, or compliance (e.g., CISSP, CISM, ISO27001, CRISC).Knowledge of security management as per the Defence Security Principles Framework (DSPF).Experience applying the Australian Cyber Security Centre's (ACSC) Information Security Manual (ISM).The successful candidate must be an Australian Citizen with an active Negative Vetting 1 or higher Security Clearance.
