Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Qualified Chef at the Mount Macedon Hotel, located in Mount Macedon, VIC.

The Qualified Chef will be responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality food, designing menus, managing kitchen staff, and ensuring food safety and hygiene standards are met.

Day-to-day tasks will include ordering and managing kitchen inventory, supervising cooking and preparation processes, and collaborating with other team members to deliver an outstanding dining experience.

Prerequisites to this role include :

Qualifications in Commercial Cookery with minimum 2 years' experience.

Culinary skills in food preparation, cooking, and presentation

Experience in menu planning and kitchen management

Understanding of various cooking methods, equipment and local seasonal ingredients.

Knowledge and practice of food safety and hygiene standards

Excellent communication and organizational skills

Willingness to work weekday and weekend shifts, alongside night shifts.

Consistent access to transportation as we are a rural establishment.

Being punctual, reliable and receptive to feedback.

A passion for delivering consistently high quality food to a thriving local community.

Previous experience in a high-volume kitchen setting is beneficial
