Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychologist (provisional, general or clinical registration) to join our Health team at our clinic in Canberra (Braddon & Belconnen). Part time or Full time employment may be considered.

The successful candidate will provide therapeutic supports and conduct assessments for participants across the lifespan, including individuals with disabilities such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Working with participants on the NDIS, referred through Medicare or privately referred, the role involves working closely with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality psychological services tailored to meet the unique needs of each participant.

Plus - we have friendly and well-organised administration teams booking appointments, invoicing, and managing NDIS changes, leaving you to get on with what is most important to you – supporting our clients to achieve their goals!

Key Responsibilities : Therapeutic Supports : Provide individual, group, and family therapy using evidence-based approaches.Develop and implement personalized therapy plans.Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of therapy interventions and adjust as needed.Assessments : Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments, including cognitive, emotional, and behavioural evaluations.Administer standardized tests and interpret results to inform diagnosis and treatment planning.Prepare detailed assessment reports with clear recommendations for interventions.Collaboration and Consultation : Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including occupational therapists and positive behaviour support practitioners.Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss and coordinate care plans.Provide consultation and training to staff and caregivers on managing behaviours and implementing therapeutic strategiesDocumentation and Reporting : Maintain accurate and confidential records of all clinical activities, including assessments, treatment plans and progress notes.Ensure compliance with legal, ethical and professional standards.Who are we looking for? Completion of a master's degree in psychology and current registration with AHPRA.Proficiency or willingness to learn in conducting psychological assessments and interpreting results.Knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic approaches for individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with research and best practices in the field.NDIS Workers screening check is essential.Why work with us?
