We're looking for an expert in data integrity and compliance to support our vision and lead the charge in ensuring our Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) data meets the highest standards. This role is essential for supporting our commitment to accurate, compliant, and reliable carbon data for manufacturers, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
- You're skilled at validating, maintaining and enhancing large, complex datasets
- You understand database structures and can navigate data quality, sensitivity, risk, and governance with confidence
- You can help ensure our systems deliver top-tier compliance, including ISO certification and help implement the governance processes to ensure audibility
- You've worked with carbon emissions and / or Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) data
- You are an Excel wizard and technology literate. Ideally, you have database experience with PostgreSQL, writing complex queries, OR at least feel comfortable working closely with development teams to write and optimise queries for performance

- The Role
As a Data Assurance and Compliance Analyst, you'll champion a culture of excellence in upfront carbon reporting. You will own the quality and compliance of our carbon data. You'll drive rigorous data validation, ensure regulatory alignment, and collaborate across teams to establish this venture as a trusted leader in carbon reporting.
- Data Quality and Integrity
- Maintain top-notch carbon footprint data and databases for accuracy and consistency.
- Oversee data quality assurance and validation in PostgreSQL database to clean, standardise, and validate data. Run regular data checks, identify issues, and resolve inconsistencies to support solid reporting.
- Ensure data integrity by implementing quality control measures.
- Compliance and Standards
- Keep all PCF data and processes in line with evolving regulations and global standards, like ISO 14067, ISO 14044,14025 and more.
- Maximise alignment with ASIC requirements, NABERS Embodied Carbon ratings, Green Star and other relevant industry rating systems
- Data Assurance and Auditing
- Proactively conduct internal quality assurance audits, ensuring compliance readiness.
- Collaborate with external system auditors and PCF assessors driving credibility and certifications for PCF calculations.
- Data systems operational excellence
- Analyse data using PostgreSQL, designing and implementing queries to extract, transform, and analyse data directly from PostgreSQL databases.
- Create and maintain transformation (ETL) pipelines making use of advanced features for handling semi-structured data.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on database optimisation to improve PostgreSQL database performance through indexing, partitioning, and query optimisation strategies.
- Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work hand-in-hand with product and engineering teams to continuously enhance features ensuring they meet customers' reporting needs
- Develop guidance for customers stakeholders and external partners to foster better practices and build knowledge in this emergent area
- Risk Management
- Proactively address data accuracy and compliance risks.
- Manage a risk register, tracking vulnerabilities and implementing solutions.
- Documentation and Reporting
- Keep comprehensive documentation of data governance, management systems, algorithms and compliance processes.
- Develop dashboards and compliance reports for internal management and for regulatory bodies and auditors.
- Qualifications
- Registered LCA professional in any country
- Certified product carbon expert
- Advanced quals in LCA or carbon assessment (products and materials)
- Materials or building science
- Active in LCA assessments for at least 5 years
