Primary Purpose

The primary purpose of the Diesel Mechanic is to service, inspection and repair of Qube mobile machinery and ancillary equipment (owned, partially owned, hired and / or leased to Qube).

Specific Responsibilities

Maintain high productivity levels and consistently uphold an "on time, in full" work ethic. Carry out mechanical and general workshop duties as directed by Senior Operations or Supervisory staff. Ensure a clean and organized work environment, with all tools properly stored after use, while adhering to all workplace health, safety, environmental, and quality standards. Present for work in a clean and professional manner, and accurately record all assigned tasks as required. Complete and submit all worksheets at the end of each shift. Provide support for unplanned maintenance and equipment breakdowns outside of standard business hours, including evenings, nights, and weekends, as needed. Obtain appropriate Work Orders before commencing any task, or complete a Work Order Request Form for emergency or unscheduled work. Assess and identify all required parts before starting a job to avoid unnecessary delays. Notify your direct report when major parts are needed so they can coordinate with the purchasing officer or line manager. Complete Repair Requests with detailed and accurate information, including your full name. Always apply personal danger locks when working on any vehicle or equipment. Strictly follow all Safe Working Instructions (SWIs). Comply with all road safety regulations and site-specific requirements. Immediately report any incidents or accidents to your direct supervisor.

Qualifications / Experience Required

Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic trade certificate Minimum of two years' experience in a similar role Experience in mobile plant equipment. Heavy Vehicle mobile mining equipment preferred Sound interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with a variety of people Sound skills using Microsoft Office and Excel Ability to work autonomously using proactive approach to task resolution A High Risk Forklift Licence AUR31112 Cert III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology Attention to detail with good hand eye co-ordination Strong communication skills including effective listening skills Flexible and adaptable with the ability to work effectively in a demanding environment Deliver effective mechanical decisions to ensure mobile machinery, reliability and operability Knowledge and understanding of applicable Commonwealth / State Safety and Environmental legislation and standards
