Due to an internal promotion, we have a rare opportunity for a Venue Manager at The Duke of Wellington. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and passionate hospitality professional who is ready to lead a large team & ensure the success of an iconic Melbourne venue.
As a Venue Manager, you will be responsible for positively influencing all staff and inspiring them to achieve their full potential in their roles. Alongside this, you'll build and maintain relationships with your team and suppliers and ensure excellent customer service is delivered.
About the Duke of Wellington :
Established in 1853, The Duke of Wellington is Melbourne's oldest licensed pub. The Duke is a dynamic three-story pub with a sports bar, public bar, lounge, dining room & popular rooftop bar.
- 2+ years in a Venue Manager role
- Understanding and ability of venue reporting on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis & understanding and ability to deep dive into financials to analyse where there is an opportunity to grow your business
- Ability to generate revenue-building ideas throughout all aspects of the business
- Write and control an effective roster for both front-of-house and back of house
- Ability to stocktake and investigate stock loss
- Order and maintain par levels within the beverage department, food department and venue consumables
- Train, performance manage, and motivate staff
- Recruit and induct new staff members into the business
- Work with and communicate effectively to all departments within the Head Office team
- Provide revenue generating ideas and work with the Marketing department to drive the business
- Have a market awareness and trend analysis relevant to food and beverage in area
- Be able to implement and execute promotions throughout the business successfully
- Assist clients in the planning and execution of their events
- Basic computer skills : Microsoft Office : including Word and Excel
- Ability to troubleshoot and work with IT department
- Be able to adapt to change and embrace new systems and platforms rolled out across the business
