Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer for Mercer Super, the Head of Compliance is a key leadership role responsible for managing regulatory complexities and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Key responsibilities include overseeing breach assessments, maintaining the obligations library, and acting as the Conflicts Officer for Mercer Super.

This leadership position is within the Line 2 Mercer Super risk team. Experience in the superannuation sector is essential. While previous leadership experience is preferred, we welcome applications from exceptional individuals seeking their first leadership role. The most critical qualities include strong risk and compliance knowledge, resilience, change management ability, and a constructive approach to challenging conversations that prioritize members' interests.

Key Responsibilities :

• Lead, mentor, and develop the Compliance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
• Set standards for conduct and work that exemplify best practices in compliance management.
• Provide expert compliance advice and support to Line 1 business units, managing compliance and regulatory risks effectively.
• Oversee the obligations register in the GRC system, ensuring it is comprehensive and fit for purpose.
• Lead incident reviews and breach assessments, collaborating with MMC colleagues to address concerns.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders, preparing and presenting compliance updates to senior management and committees.
