We are seeking an enthusiastic environmental impact assessment consultant or environmental scientist with 2-5 years of experience preparing NSW or Commonwealth environmental assessment and planning approvals (SEEs, REFs, EISs, EPBC Act referrals or similar). The ideal candidate will have experience in stakeholder engagement, community consultation, technical specialist coordination, report authoring, managing sub-consultants, GIS mapping and bidding.

You will be a full-time member of our Environment team in Sydney, contributing to both current and future projects. Here you will support key international development projects primarily in the Pacific as well as energy, water, maritime, and transport infrastructure projects.

The NSW Environment team is a dynamic and energetic team. You will be supported by a cohort of juniors and have several highly experienced senior professionals to learn from. You will be well supported via training and mentorship and there are plenty of opportunities for growth, development and career progression. Our team works across a variety of different roles on projects including environmental / strategic assessments, technical coordination, design development including nature-based solutions, and project management / project coordination.

You will be required to work with minimal supervision in your area of responsibility, and you may be accountable for defined parts of projects;You will be responsible for ensuring the quality and accuracy of your work;You will represent your team or area at internal meetings;You will assist others with their work and ensure that deadlines are met.

Is this role right for you?

Recognised relevant tertiary qualifications in science or environment or engineering or planning or similar area;Relevant industry experience (minimum 2 – 5 years) in NSW environment impact assessment, project management, stakeholder and community engagement and business development within a consulting business environment;Proven working knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and guidelines.
