About the RoleThe Head of Department (HOD) for Nursing Programs at Acknowledge Education is a senior leadership role tasked with providing academic and operational leadership for both Higher Education (HE) and Vocational Education and Training (VET) nursing programs. The HOD will be pivotal in developing and overseeing the Bachelor and Master of Nursing courses, ensuring the highest standards in academic delivery, program development, and staff management.
Key Responsibilities
Academic and Operational LeadershipLead and guide academic staff within the nursing department.Ensure the delivery of innovative and relevant nursing programs.Manage day-to-day operations, including timetabling, resource planning, enrolments, and RPL.Oversee the assessment processes and ensure compliance with relevant policies.Conduct performance appraisals and manage recruitment and workload allocation.Mentor staff to promote teaching excellence and research productivity.Facilitate induction processes and uphold academic staffing guidelines.Course Development and EnhancementSpearhead the development of new nursing courses.Support the establishment of nursing programs at new campuses.Engage with Course Advisory Committees and conduct necessary research for course improvement.Student SuccessAdvocate for a student-centred approach to education.Implement support services and initiatives to enhance student success, well-being, and retention.Ensure the accuracy of information provided to students and maintain up-to-date student handbooks and orientation programs.Scholarly Activities and Professional DevelopmentLead and support scholarly activities and professional development within the department.Engage in research to enhance teaching and learning.Internal Audit and Organisational OutcomesAssist with internal audits and ensure compliance with accreditation standards.Collaborate on marketing, finance, budgeting, student admissions, graduation, and alumni communications.Why work with usOpportunities to grow within the organization1,500 professional development allowanceIncredibly committed and supportive team of student-centric professionalsFlexibility to work from home during non-teaching hours (For Academic staff)Be part of a fast-growing organization working in an agile environmentTo ApplyWe are an equal opportunity employer.
