The Melbourne Cricket Club (MCC) has the public responsibility of managing one of the largest and the most successful stadiums in Australia and the world - the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). The MCG is more than just a stadium, it's an Australian icon and a meeting place for generations past, present and future.

The MCG is host to more than 70 major events and attracts over three million visitors annually. The MCC is the largest sporting club in the country with over 150,000 members and also manages 13 sporting sections with participation over 2,600. The Australian Sports Museum (ASM) has its home at the MCG, celebrating the country's rich sporting history, which is also managed by the MCC.

  • About the team and role
  • The Commercial Operations & Partnerships Department is responsible for the MCC's marketing initiatives, communications, publicity, issues management, community partnerships, corporate sales, business development, advertising, merchandise and commercial arrangements with sponsors, suppliers and partners.

    A new unique opportunity has been created for _an enthusiastic Community Coordinator._ Reporting to the Community Manager, this role's goal is to support the management of the Melbourne Cricket Club Foundation Community Support Program and delivery of CSR initiatives at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

    Key responsibilities of the Community Coordinator include (but are not limited to) :

  • Provide administrative and operational support to the management of the Melbourne Cricket Club (MCC) Foundation Community Support Program.
  • Support the CSR activities of the MCC's managed venue, the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), by overseeing involvement in Melbourne City Mission's Sleep at the 'G, Fight MND's Big Freeze at the 'G, venue hirer activities and other initiatives as they arise.
  • Contribute to the process and fulfillment of inbound requests of the MCC Foundation and MCG, including the stadium's light up program and donations.
  • Work collaboratively with the Community team to provide support in delivering, implementing and integrating the action items outlined in the MCC's commitment to reconciliation.
  • Support the collation of evaluation and impact reports across the community team's projects, partnerships and initiatives.
  • To be successful in this role, you will have a passion for philanthropy, a university qualification in management, sports management, public relations, communications, marketing, philanthropy or another relevant field, and 1-2 years employment experience in these areas.

    It is essential you also have the following :

  • Proven success in providing administrative and operational support in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills to successfully meet deadlines and manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Exceptionally high attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • An appreciation of Australia's cultural heritage and sporting history.
  • Understanding and awareness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures and issues.
