About the Role :

The Payroll Officer will provide support to the Senior Payroll Partner for all activities necessary to process various payroll cycles and support the necessary HSE and quality assurance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing end to end payroll support and processing for approximately 300 employees on the fortnightly and monthly payroll including but not limited to setting up of new employees, collation of monthly movement sheet, data integrity checks, addition and modification of leave / payroll codes, calculation and processing of termination payments, replying to general enquires from employees, reconciliation of leave taken on a monthly basis
  • Manage legislative requirements for Australian and New Zealand staff including payroll tax payments, superannuation and PAYG tax.
  • Stakeholder engagement, reporting, risk management / compliance
  • Ensure the systems, processes and activities of the department complies with Work Health, Safety and Environment legislation, ISO45001, the DT Global APAC HSE Management System and client contracts.
  • Consult, assist and advise the HSE department to ensure HSE and department processes comply with HSE legislation and other requirements.
  • Implement and comply with DT Global APAC Quality Management system and provide feedback / recommendations where the system may need modification.
  • All other related duties as required.

Selection Criteria

Essential Experience and Knowledge

  • At least 5 years of payroll experience
  • Desirable :

  • Strong experience and understanding of the relevant Australian payroll legislation, including Workers Compensation and Payroll Tax
  • Experience in Aurion is highly desirable
  • Strong understanding of payroll systems, Employee Benefits and Leave requirements
  • High level Excel skills with a can do and flexible approach whilst forming part of a dynamic HR team
  • Excellent communication skills / stakeholder engagement
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills
  • Experience working with NZ legislation highly desirable
