The Salvation Army Australia's Homelessness Stream provides high quality, person centred services to people at risk, and or experiencing homelessness. We support adults and families, including accompanying children with accommodation, case management, outreach support, financial assistance, connection and referral to other specialist services.

About the role

The Concierge will play a vital role in creating a welcoming environment that reflects the mission of The Salvation Army.

The role will effectively manage the reception area, and assist with site management for The Salvation Army's Brisbane City Women's Accommodation services, with a focus on excellent service delivery. This includes welcoming and providing initial assistance to visitors who attend the reception area; monitoring people entering and exiting the building; helping visitors seeking support, including referring to appropriate persons or services where necessary and supporting room intake preparation.

This position also provides administrative support to the expression such as monitoring and ordering of supplies.

You will successfully

  • Clients, tradespeople, emergency service provides and visitors accessing the service are provided with a welcoming and responsive initial contact, and any urgent and immediate needs are addressed
  • Manage ancillary support services for residents including : overseeing the distribution of mail; taking and redirecting phone calls as needed
  • Assist all visitors are provided with necessary support, guidance and assistance in line with site procedures
  • Monitor and order supplies (i.e. linen and toiletries for new intakes; stationary; event resources) as needed
  • Ordering and management of food supplies, stock and deliveries
  • Clients are referred and assisted to access support services as needed
  • Support with client bookings as required
  • This is a permanent, full-time position located in Brisbane, QLD. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Crisis Leve 1 Award.

    You will have

  • Certificate IV qualification in community services, or related field with relevant experience or demonstrated equivalent experience, knowledge and skills
  • First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
  • A Working with Children / Vulnerable people check is required
