Position : Product Design Engineer

Location : Building 3, 1 Bapaume Road, Moorebank, NSW 2170

Salary : $76,500 to 80,000 + Superannuation

They are currently seeking a Product Design Engineer to support their manufacturing and design team by delivering engineering solutions from concept to production.

Minimum Requirements :

A bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field (or an equivalent overseas qualification)
At least 1 year of relevant full-time work experience in product design or engineering support roles
Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks)
Strong understanding of engineering principles, design processes, and safety regulations

Key Responsibilities :

Design, plan, and coordinate production of customer orders where engineering drawings are not supplied

Prepare manufacturing drawings and support the production team to meet customer specifications

Convert physical samples into digital prototypes for verification and full-scale production

Evaluate and improve current manufacturing processes to reduce cost and enhance quality

Conduct product research and implement structural and technological improvements in design

Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external clients to ensure project alignment and timelines

Run design concepts through testing protocols and document findings

Raise technical quotes and prepare supporting documents for sales and tendering purposes

Use CAD / CAM systems to design, visualise, and support prototype development

Ensure compliance with engineering standards, procedures, and workplace safety regulations

Skills Required :

Proven ability to interpret and produce detailed technical drawings

Strong skills in CAD software and product design visualisation

Methodical and analytical approach to problem-solving

Effective communication skills and ability to work across multidisciplinary teams

Demonstrated time and resource planning capabilities

Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
