We are seeking someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a passion for good governance, stakeholder engagement, and capability building to support committee operations, and the implementation of the department's Governance Framework.This is a temporary 12-month, full-time opportunity, in an organisation that embraces flexible working arrangements and provides a supportive and collegiate work environment.About The DepartmentThe Department of Education are dedicated to building an inclusive and diverse workforce that reflects the community and schools we support by treating everyone with respect and dignity.

This includes making reasonable adjustments to support applicants at all stages of the process and employee lifecycle.About The RoleWe are seeking a Principal Policy Officer to provide Secretariat support to the department's key strategic governance committees, and help mature governance capability and processes.

The role will also have the opportunity to lead and contribute to implementation of priorities under the department's Governance Framework, which includes programs of work focused on building governance capability and processes.You will be part of a high-performing team delivering governance products, advice and Secretariat support that enables good governance practice and robust decision-making across key strategic committees.

Governance, Strategy and Planning offers a flexible and inclusive workplace where you can build your skills and knowledge, collaborate, and meaningfully contribute to the department's strategic priorities and objectives.Your responsibilitiesManage governance committee arrangements on behalf of the Secretariat for key departmental governance committees, including quality assuring or developing meeting materials Lead development of governance resources, tools and processes to build organisational capability Lead development and delivery of governance training and capability to mature the department's governance approach Provide a high level of support, advice and customer service to stakeholders and senior executives Quality assuring information for alignment to policies, procedures and requirements.

About YouWhat you'll need to succeed : Excellent attention to detail, organisation and coordination skills.

Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.

Understanding of good governance requirements, including ability to translate this into user-friendly resources and capability offerings.

Excellent communicator who enjoys working with a range of stakeholders and as part of a team.

Ability to work across a number of areas, in a fast-paced environment, and prioritise accordingly.
