Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor high-quality learning programs including the EYLF curriculum.
  • Provide a program that responds to each child's well-being, positive sense of identity, and confidence as a learner and participant.
  • Respect and value a child's dispositions, community, family and social contexts, cultural traditions and understandings, and home language / s
  • Ensure that accurate records are kept regarding accidents, incidents, injuries, illness, and medication.

The appropriate books / records are to be checked regularly to ensure ongoing compliance.

  • The College has zero tolerance to racism and all children will be supported to express their culture and enjoy their cultural rights.
  • Create environments that respond to children's personalities, well-being, dispositions for learning, strengths, abilities, interests, and multiple ways of learning.
  • Resource and challenge learning spaces and children as they explore and develop their ideas.
  • Keep accurate records of individual children to support future planning.
  • Facilitate play, and learning experiences as initiated by the children and ensuring this is implemented by educators at the Crèche;
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with all team members, guiding and supporting colleagues.
  • In line with the practice and ethos of the College, actively participate in professional development, staff meetings, and training opportunities.
  • Demonstrate effective relationships with families and the wider community (including the other sub-schools of the College) through open and regular communication, sharing with families their child's learning and progress.
  • Regularly inform families as to their commitments and obligations
  • Proactively manage health and wellbeing and ensure the safety of colleagues and children in the care of the Crèche.
  • There is an expectation that staff in this role set clear expectations around child safety and ensure the Child's Safety and well-being
  • Appropriately supervise children at all times maintaining care ratios
  • Keep accurate records of individual children to support wellbeing.
  • Administer first aid and medication when required and fulfill all associated legislative requirements.
  • Comply with the College's OHS Policy and Procedures
  • Fulfil all requirements and documentation as outlined in the relevant regulations, and the policies and expectations of ACECQA, the College, and other relevant awards / agreements.
  • Entering, maintaining, and submitting appropriate, accurate data and records (including attendances, etc.) to the relevant authorities
  • Other duties as reasonably directed by the College.
  • Qualifications
  • Completed a minimum of an approved two-year qualification for working in an early childhood education program (essential).
  • 2 -3 years' experience in early childhood education.
  • Qualified Early Childhood Teacher (desirable)
  • Working with Children Check
  • Recognised first aid, emergency asthma management and anaphylaxis management training
