Our client, is an Australian fund manager with a fantastic reputation in the market. They are currently seeking a Treasury Operations Associate to join their Market Operations team.
The Market Operations team is responsible for all settlement and investment lifecycle related activities, which includes trade confirmation, instruction, and settlement, corporate actions and income receipts, payments, regulatory trade reporting, and margin movements. As a Treasury Operations Associate, you will rotate through the various streams of our Market Operations team to gain experience and exposure to all areas of Market Operations.
ResponsibilitiesConfirm, instruct and settle trades, fixed income, futures and OTC derivatives.Manage corporate actions and income receiptsProcess paymentsComplete regulatory trade reportingMonitor margin movementsSupport other team members to ensure all work is done each dayProvide backup coverage for other team members as requiredEscalate issues to the manager before the cut-off or deadline or before the issue becomes visible outside of Investment OperationsWrite any issue or incident reportsComplete checklist items and escalate if not completed on timeTest new modules, systems, enhancements, and BCP as requiredAdhere to procedures and escalate to the manager when procedures do not cover a situationDraft procedures as requiredAssist, coach, and train more junior team members in the first instanceIdentify, assess, evaluate, and manage risks within an operations teamRequirementsStrong understanding of settlement lifecycleKnowledge of the Australian Financial Markets and the role of different participants within the marketUnderstanding of the market settlement process for fixed interest, equities, and exchange-traded derivativesExperience in identifying, assessing, evaluating, and managing risks within an operations teamGood communication skills and the ability to work in a team-oriented environmentAttention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to prioritize tasksBachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field
