About the Role

As a Trainee Optical Dispenser, you will be responsible for providing clinical, sales and customer service assistance in all aspects of eye care. The role will see you study and undertake on the job training under supervision to develop the competency and skills required of an Optical Dispenser.

You will be working closely with Optometrists and experienced Dispensers. You will assist patients with the selection of their frames, interpret optical prescriptions, provide excellent customer service and general practice administration duties to ensure the very best patient experience. This role is ideal if you are passionate about eyewear fashion and enjoy working with people in a busy environment.

This is a full time role, based at our Parramatta Eyecare Centre. You will also be required to work at some our other centres. You will work an 11 day fortnight (working every second Saturday).

The Eyecare Centre is open Monday to Friday from 8 : 30am to 5pm and Saturday from 9am to 3 : 30pm.

Responsibilities :

• Interpret optical prescriptions
• Provide personalised fashion and practical advice to assist customers in selecting frames and lenses
• Patient care management
• Assisting on reception, when required
• Keeping patient records up to date
• Study at TAFE part-time whilst training.
