APS 6 - Senior Communications Officer

The Role

Digital Communication and Engagement (DCE) Directorate within the Defence Digital Group (DDG) is key to supporting the delivery and coordination of strategic internal communications and events. The area directly supports the Chief Information Officer and DDG Senior Leadership Team in developing and delivering targeted communication to contribute to Departmental strategic outcomes.

We are seeking an experienced and innovative APS 6 Senior Communications Officer to :

• Utilise creative tools to deliver digital artefacts and videography services across the Group in support of communications strategies.
• Maintain and update the Group intranet presence
• Partner with internal stakeholders to facilitate timely and accurate information sharing
• Support planning and delivery of continuous improvement within the communications function
• Help grow the professionalisation within the DCE team by providing innovative solutions which improve the way we work.

• Knowledge of digital media and web writing requirements including familiarity with accessibility requirements
• Ability to work flexibly, to plan and prioritise workflow to meet deadlines and deliver high quality outcomes
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team and embrace challenges
• Experience in high-pressure communication environments
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative suite or experience across media creation tools
