As Manager Casework within our Central Coast & Lake Macquarie team, you will be responsible for mentoring, coaching, and supporting case management staff to achieve positive outcomes for children, young people, and families.
The role involves ensuring high-quality, evidence-based services, promoting respectful casework, and providing guidance, training, and development to employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively engage children, young people, their families, carers, and other people important to them, in the formulation and implementation of their case plans.
- Support staff and carers in developing positive relationships with children and young people, applying the principles of the CARE model in all interactions and collaborate with family members for the well-being of the child or young person.
- Liaise and partner with internal and external stakeholders to improve service delivery, develop practice, and achieve the care goals for children and young people.
- Conduct assessments, planning, reviews, and referrals for children and young people with complex support needs using endorsed procedures and tools.
- Ensure written materials for internal and external use meet high-quality, evidence-informed standards and comply with policy, legislation, and regulations.
- Lead relevant teams in best practice assessment, planning, and evaluation processes
- Provide regular supervision, coaching, development and support to case management staff for quality outcomes.
Skills & Experience
A recognised Degree qualification in Social Work, Social Sciences, Psychology, Nursing or Mental Health OR recognised Diploma in a related field and working toward a relevant Degree qualification. (Note : a qualification is desirable but not essential for Aboriginal and / or Torres Strait Islander applicants with relevant experience)A current driver’s licenceExtensive experience in the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of case management and client support servicesDemonstrated understanding of current casework practice for children and young people, including trauma-informed, permanency-focused, and therapeutic case plans.Demonstrated ability to work with individuals, families, or groups from a strengths-based and culturally appropriate perspective.Demonstrated experience in leadership / management, coaching, mentoring, and providing support and training to managers and staffExcellent written communication skills for the creation of reports, correspondence, and other materialSuccessful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and NSW Working with Children Check
