The Environment Advisor contributes to this mission by collaborating across the business to improve environmental compliance and environmental performance of the tram network. It includes supporting the Environment Manager in mitigating business risks associated with environment and heritage matters, assisting with environmental initiatives and actions related to Yarra Trams operations, coordinating regulatory reporting (i.e. NGERs) and contributing to the Infrastructure Sustainability Council Operations rating.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop and support environment and heritage strategies and action plans.Develop assurance programs for environment, heritage and sustainability, and conduct audits and inspections.Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance environmental compliance and risk management.Maintain and improve Yarra Trams' certified Environmental Management System.Manage environment and heritage procedures, approvals, and regulatory matters.Collect and analyse environmental data to prepare detailed reporting, including regulatory reporting (i.e. NGERs, Climate Related Financial Disclosures).Identify, make recommendations and drive environment, heritage and sustainability improvement initiatives.Support the development and completion of environment and heritage approvals.Support employee training and engagement on environmental matters.QualificationsTertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related disciplineExperience & knowledge2-5 years' experience in an environmental role or related capabilities (heritage experience highly regarded)Excellent analytical skills and ability to translate quantitative data into qualitative messagesExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with high attention to detailDemonstrated ability to develop credibility and trust with internal stakeholdersA genuine commitment and passion for environmental compliance, with high levels of enthusiasm and drive to achieve resultsExperience in the development and consultation of procedures and processesWhy Yarra Trams?Do you want to be a part of a workplace that is based on respect, promotes diversity, and encourages inclusiveness?
