To support this growth, we are seeking a senior professional to manage and support the electrical, controls and commissioning work of our multidiscipline, and generally brownfields, projects.
The Leicon business includes a separate strong and very well respected electrical and controls team (LEC) which self performs design, switchboard and panel manufacture and limited installation as a self-contained specialist entity. However, works for Leicon Notley multidiscipline projects are typically carried out by separate subcontractors.
About the Role
Reporting to the General Manager this role will provide design, construction, testing, commissioning and documentation services associated with electrical, instrumentation, automation and control systems for water and wastewater infrastructure Projects.
Key Responsibilities :
Working with Leicon Notley Project Managers and Engineers, manage the electrical and controls engineering, installation of our projects.
Liaise and coordinate with Client engineering and commissioning personnel
Documentation and administration of subcontracts and technical suppliers.
Provide limited detail design to Others’ Preliminary Designs as necessary to facilitate the works. This may include coordinating with our in-house electrical and controls engineering teams.
With the project teams, manage the electrical and controls planning and interfaces for shutdowns and commissioning.
Manage the commissioning and handover of the project works.
Contribute to tender preparation and provide ad-hoc technical advice.
Actively seek to ensure safe working, compliance and best practice of works on our projects.
At least 5 years’ experience as an electrical and / or controls project engineer
Sound appreciation of both electrical and controls engineering.
Real experience in shutdowns and commissioning.
Enthusiastic and flexible contributor and team player.
Organised, detail-oriented with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications
Degree level qualification in Electrical Engineering or relevant equivalent.
Suitably experienced and skilled electrical / instrumentation tradesman and technicians are also encouraged to apply.
Experience in managing electrical and controls subcontractors
Construction and Site Commissioning experience including associated documentation
Design skills in electrical, controls and instrumentation
Knowledge of AS3000 and associated safety aspects of the role
Knowledge of Siemens and Schneider PLC’s and ClearSCADA
Equipment knowledge in areas of variable speed drives, generators and solar systems would be highly regarded
Electrical and / or I&C estimating experience
Experience in the water infrastructure sector highly regarded
Flexible and enthusiastic as to role
Desire to work with a motivated and competent team to achieve optimal performance in all aspects

Ability to work away in country WA for short periods of time as required by the project
