The Fox Hole is a custom-built venue on the CBD side of The Rocks located in heritage-listed Accountants House. As we embark on this exciting next step in The Fox Hole's story, we are looking to add a hands-on Venue Manager to our team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to be a part of a successful team delivering the venue's daily operations, our Gin & Tea afternoons, evening bar services, regular seasonal dinners, and our guided spirit tasting experiences.
- Responsibilities
You will be :
- Working directly with the owners to set annual and quarterly business plans
- Setting the mood for the venue : lead, motivate, and oversee daily venue operations
- Taking responsibility for commercial outcomes of the venue : revenue management, financial targets, sales opportunities, and partnerships
- Developing and implementing systems and procedures to enhance guest experience, drive operational efficiency, and deliver excellence in line with our values
- People management : recruitment, rostering, succession planning, performance management
- Training and developing others to create rewarding hospitality careers for your team across the bar, floor, and kitchen departments
- Hosting guided tasting experiences : gin, whisky, rum, tequila, or wine (WSET Level 2+ preferred), providing you with opportunities to have creative input into the back bar selection and the development of our guided experiences

- The types of skills, qualifications and experience we are looking for
- Minimum three years' experience in a similar role (such as assistant manager, duty manager, or venue manager)
- Sound food and beverage knowledge, with gin and / or Australian wine styles is highly regarded (however not essential, we have in-house wine and gin expertise and provide regular product training)
- Excellent customer service skills, from meet-and-greet to complaints resolution
- Proven record in event sales, design, and delivery
- Sound commercial acumen
- Experience leading, developing, and motivating others
- Experience using reservations management and point of sale systems
- Current RSA (essential), and accredited licensee training (optional)
