An opportunity exists for an experienced Mine Surveyor to join Lynas Rare Earths on a full time basis. Reporting to the Senior Mine Surveyor, you are crucial in providing surveying design and support for Mt Weld Operations.
Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out surveying in a timely manner to ensure the accurate location of the pit perimeter, the pit wall angles, the ramp position, the terms and any other item related to the mine designSurveying of the waste dump to ensure the waste dump is built according to the designSurveying of the stockpiles on a regular basisUpdating all the plans of the pit layouts and designs, the waste dump and the stockpilesAccurately and efficiently survey and mark the ore blocks onto the ground for each level of miningCarrying out survey pick-ups requested by the mine geology department of the oreLiaising with other mining personnel to ensure that at all times the ore is mined accuratelyAssist the Geology department to calculate the quantity and grade of ore mined each monthCarry out a survey of each blasting pattern and calculate the volume blastedValidate and record the inputs into the cost of each blastEnsure the end of month survey of the pit is conducted and verify the volume mined from each of the payment levelsKeep records of all the data and surveying used to determine payment to the contractorMeasure and report geotechnical wall prisms for rock mass stabilityMaintain accurate plans of all the mining areas including pits, waste dumps, roads, ramps and stockpiles.Skills required for this roleRelevant Qualifications - Degree or Diploma / Advanced Diploma of SurveyingProven mine surveying capability 2+ years' experienceExperience with Topcon GPS equipment or similar (preferred)Experience with Surpac software or similar (preferred)Experience with Pix4d and Global Mapper software (preferred)Experience with UAV surveying (preferred)Valid WA "C" Class Driver's LicenseA high degree of accountability, accuracy and proven time management skillsExcellent verbal, written and computer skillsProblem solving and analytical skillsEnthusiastic and self-motivatedAbility to multi-taskThe ability to work autonomously as well as part of a high performing teamA strong commitment to safetyAt Lynas Rare Earths, we pride ourselves on offering competitive remuneration packages and offer a family friendly roster of 8 days on 6 days off fly in fly out (FIFO) from Perth.
